Oh the goings on ........With Easter approaching I thought about being a kid and getting a new dress. Oh I loved to go shopping for a new Easter dress. I have a few dresses that stick out in my memories. Thinking about it made me want to get a new Easter dress this year. Hello have you been shopping lately for a dress? They are hard to find. My thought was I would go to one store at the mall and if they didn't have what I wanted, I would bag it. I had always had good luck with that particular store in the past so off I went. No they did have any dresses. I asked the clerk an she helped me hunt for one but it was not to be. O.K. so I thought well while I am here (at the mall), I would just check the other stores. Still no luck. I went to a couple of stores by the mall no luck. As a fluke, I stopped at a store on my way home. No dress but....I saw a cute skirt. I tried it on and to my complete surprise it was too big. Can you believe it? Woohoo. That hasn't happened to me in years. It was awesome to put on a shirt in my size and have it be too big. I was ready to party. But wait they didn't have a smaller one. dang. But I was going to revel in the fact it was too big. I tired on some cute tops that would have matched the skirt but no sense in getting the tops without the skirt because they didn't match anything else I owned. When I put them back on the rack I noticed they had the same tops in different colors. They had a color that would be a good match for a skirt I already owned. Perfect. That would do. I thought no need trying them on because I had just tried on tops with the only difference being the color. So I bought them and went home. I got up Easter morning tried to put them on and............to my horror they were too small. Oh horrors. I could put one arm threw the neck hole but what about the rest of me? Well back I go to return them.
Not all is lost........I was able to find a purse. Some of you know I have been looking for quite some time for a new one. Yes it is green leather and dang cute. Also I got a b-day present. No it isn't my b-day yet and it deserves it's own post. SOOOOO stay tuned.

Doing New
I feel so Art. When I get something new to wear, I can hardly wait to wear it. Oft times I have it on before I even get home. O.K. that only applies to shoes, hats or outerwear. Contrarily so when Art gets something new to wear he sticks it in his closet never to see the light of day until he really needs it. Sometimes that can take up to a couple of years. Seriously the kids can sign my voucher on that one. Anyway if you recall I got some new shoes from New Balance last year. Well one pair of shiny white slip-ons were tucked away. Now before you get a carried away thinking I have so many shoes that I didn't know I had them let me put those thoughts right out of your head. I put them away knowing I would have them for this spring. Yes I gave up on spring and decided to wear them. I kept getting them out and looking at them and then thought I would wait for spring but spring isn't springing so yesterday I got them out. It was such an Art thing to do. But here is what I decided. I like the way I do new best. Get something new.........wear it right away. It is fun to get something new and why wait. Seriously why wait?
By the way ..... I only got three new pairs of shoes this month and I got rid of 27. Now that is progress.

Portland Weekend
Last week Brent, MaryKate, and Miss R invited me to go with them to Portland. My nephew recently returned from serving a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints so we went to see him and his family. I had such a grand time. The ride over was enjoyable even with the snow. I can say that because Brent drove and I could just sit back and relax. And that was good because the snow was wicked crazy. I have never seen it like that before and hope to never again. We left home about 6:30 p.m. in the evening and drove straight to Portland. We were going to stop half way and spend the night but we just kept going. Miss R and I watched Superwhy and KungFu Panda. The next morning MaryKate ended up in the ER but is just fine (thank heavens!). And when the shock wears off I think she will be even better. My sister and nephew picked Miss R and myself up and we went to their house. We were later joined by Brent and MaryKate. We played guitar hero for a while and then my nephew borrowed Rock Band from a friend and he, Brent, and I took every opportunity to play. My sister and niece even took a turn and being the lead singer. I am a huge fan and it is now on my wish list. We also went shopping and I bought a new coat and yes a pair of shoes. I can't go out of town and not buy a new pair of shoes. That would be terrible. Anyway we did a lot of visiting and ate some really good food. On Sunday my nephew gave his report. He did a fabulous job. I really enjoyed it. My sister and niece sang with a couple of other girls and another woman. My sister has a little group that she sings with (the lil smokies) and the other woman is in her group and the girls are the daughters of the other women. They sounded beautiful. Then my brother in law was ordained and elder. Way cool to witness. It is always fun to visit the Taylors. They are so hospitable and incredibly fun. Then we headed home. Visiting on the way home was fun. Sadly I returned to find my dear Art sick. Oh dear. But I had such a good time and am so thankful Brent and MaryKate invited me along. So a big thanks to them and a big thanks to the Taylors for the hospitality and good time.

Hey You Want a Peanut
I think I am going to have to give up peanut eating. There was the problem with salmonella and now this. A friend shared this with me.
A tour bus driver is driving with a bus load of seniors down a highway when he is tapped on his shoulder by a little old lady.
She offers him a handful of peanuts, which he gratefully munches up.
After about 15 minutes, she taps him on his shoulder again and she hands him another handful of peanuts.
She repeats this gesture about five more times.
When she is about to hand him another batch again he asks the little old lady, 'Why don't you eat the peanuts yourself?'.
'We can't chew them because we've no teeth', she replied.
The puzzled driver asks, 'Why do you buy them then?'
The old lady replied, 'We just love the chocolate around them.'
Uh….. want a peanut?

Done Enough
Well my visitor's room is done enough. Those who saw it in real life not just photos have agreed it is nothing I would have ever picked. I like it more each day. You can't tell from the photo but my neighbor put in a rock stairway in her yard and my window frames it perfectly and looks really cool. It just needs visitors now. The room is so small I really couldn't take very good photos and yes that is the excuse I am sticking with. Anyway here are the photos.

Turning 50
A few months ago my friend Shawna reached a milestone. She turned 50. She was a real trooper. We made her wear a tiara to dinner announcing she was 50. We teased her every chance we got and she played along. Now that she is 50 she can now look forward to singing these songs.
Herman’s Hermits— Mrs.Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Walker.
Ringo Starr— I Get By With a Little Help From Depends.
The Bee Gees— How Can You Mend a Broken Hip.
Bobby Darin— Splish, Splash, I Was Havin’ a Flash.
Roberta Flack— The First Time Ever I Forgot Your Face.
Johnny Nash— I Can’t See Clearly Now.
Paul Simon— Fifty Ways to Lose Your Liver
The Commodores–Â Once, Twice, Three Times to the Bathroom.
Marvin Gaye— Heard It Through the Grape Nuts.
Procol Harem— A Whiter Shade of Hair.
Leo Sayer— You Make Me Feel Like Napping.
The Temptations— Papa’s Got a Kidney Stone.
Abba— Denture Queen.
Helen Reddy— I Am Woman, Hear Me Snore.
Leslie Gore— It’s My Procedure, and I’ll Cry If I Want To.
As for me.....well I'm still singing a different tune.

Stepping Out
Oh dear I am stepping out of my comfort zone. I decided to redo my guest room or as princess calls it the visitor's room. I hope it turns out. A couple of weeks ago I found the perfect and I mean perfect comforter. It was tan with pink flowers and lots of greenery. Well after buying it I had buyers remorse so bad it didn't even make it home with me. SO I have been looking for something ever since. It would be much easier if I wasn't so cheap. Anyway I decided to bag the flowery look and go for a more masculine look. I found a comforter and curtains. It is nothing I would have ever given a second look to before. Yikes. I will post a pic when it is all put together. Oh I do hope it turns out!!!! Otherwise I will have to step back in my comfortable zone.
