Kisses From The Bosie River
We met at 12:30 but as most church functions go we didn't make it to the River until 1:45. The girls floated in tubes and MaryKate and I shared a raft. Ahhhh a nice dry warm raft. We we had fun using the oars to get the girls wet and they enjoyed splashing us back and most especially hanging on to the raft so they wouldn't have to use their arms to paddle. Well as most good things, they must come to an end....... about half way down the river our raft drifted over to the trees on the side. We paddled our hearts out but it did no good. The River was stronger then we were. As we got to the trees the river became extremely swift and it pitched us out. One of the branches from a tree was in the water and it hooked my vest and suit and held me under. I said a quick prayer and knew I would be o.k. but I needed to act fast. I decided I would have to take the vest and suit off and save my car keys (they were safely tucked in my cleavage inside my suit) Not my first choice of things to do but I would rather be naked then dead. As I struggled to remove them I felt a snap. The branch broke. Whew. As I quickly swam to the top, I said a quick prayer of thanks. Once my head was above the water I noticed MaryKate was nowhere and then the water pulled me under again. As I was sucked back under I said a prayer for MaryKate's safety. I struggled back up and grabbed around a tree that had fallen in the water. The water was beating against me trying to pull back under but I managed to climb up on the tree. By then a couple of our girls came floating close. One offered to throw me her tube but I told her to stay on her tube and not to come any closer. No sense in two of us being stranded. I asked them to see if they could find MaryKate. I was scared for her and prayed mightily for her safety. I climbed to the top of the tree I had been clinging to and jumped as far into the water as I could get. Whew it was away from the area wanting to pull me under. I swam a little and found a place to get out and walk. I walked a little way and then caught up with some of my group and found MaryKate. Thank heavens! She managed to get back in the raft. She was too far across the water for me to swim too so I shared a tube with one of the other girls. She was so sweet to share the tube with me and we laughed our heads off. Not a bonding moment I would have planned but I guess when the lord provides an opportunity my job is not to question it but to appreciate it and take it. I lost my favorite sunglasses and the girls who had put their shoes in the raft lost their shoes. I cut my hand and dislocated my thumb (I was able to pull it back in place) and today my arms are bruised. The river definitely left it's kiss marks on me but no lives were lost and the girls all said how much fun they had. Strange as it sounds, I really did have a great time and I can't wait to go again.

Same Moon But My How It Has Changed

I have often heard my Dad say “ Same moon but my how it has changed”. That is how I feel. My darling PC and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. So of course it made me reflect back on the big day. We dated for 2 ½ years so we were sure. I thought I was in love with my PC and I was but that doesn’t even to compare to how much I love him now. We got married outside and knew it would be hot so we decided it would be best to have the ceremony at 7:30 in the evening. A month prior to our wedding I was in a car accident and it was still in a lot of pain and had trouble standing for any length so we asked the Bishop to keep it as short as possible. I don’t know what long is for him ‘cause for short he spoke for more than 30 minutes. It was insane. It is a good thing I was on heavy duty drugs so I could stand but I think I should have taken more to drown out the long sermon. My PC’s sister was singing with the Seattle Opera Company at the time and she sang us a beautiful song. My sister Debbie was the matron of honor and my PC’s best friend Dan was the best man. Christmas was the flower girl and Brent was the ring bearer. They were so adorable. Christmas was excited because my sister let her wear some of her lip gloss and Brent was excited because he got to wear a cumber bunny (cumberbun) with his tuxedo. Same moon but we have all changed. Wonder what great things the next 20 years will bring.
To celebrate we had a dining experience. We didn't just go to dinner, we went to a place in town with linen table cloths, a gentleman playing piano and a main waiter and different servers for every little thing. It was fun and an experience. Then off to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Brent gave us tickets to use at the movie theater.

A Weekend In Paradise
Don and I finally made to Cascade this year. We went up on Friday morning. I cleaned and Don did yard work. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I was running the washing machine and cleaning and the water stopped. The pump on the well had stopped. But we walked up to the neighbors since the pump is on his property and he flipped the switches a couple of times and we were back in business. That night we played guitar hero and watched a stupid movie. On Saturday, we took the boat out. Don drove half of the time and I drove the other half. We rode clear up past Tammarack. We had never seen it from the lake. We were absolutely amazed at the homes that were lakeside. It was like being in Ft Lauderdale again. I named the area New Lauderdale. I so enjoy boating and it was just perfect. I just loved every minute of the weekend. It was all so fun but I really enjoyed spending the time with Don.
My Bike Ride
My daughter in law MK is training for a triathlon. She has been training and has gotten very good at running, swimming and biking. She offered to ride bikes with me since I have a new bike. I was excited that she wanted to ride with me but I was also very nervous. I was worried she would be bogged down waiting for me to catch up and she wouldn’t enjoy it much. That may well have been the case but she didn’t let on one bit and I was happy that someone wanted to ride with me. She was very gracious and made sure I wasn’t over doing. She even helped me out of the ditch pit. Yes I said helped me out of the ditch pit. It is much easier to write this then to tell it as just thinking about it makes me laugh. We were riding along just fine and we took a sharp turn. I was going a little too fast for the turn so I put my brakes on….my very sensitive brakes. Down the ditch I headed. I screamed and was headed for a power poll so I swerved and when I did, the bike pitched me off and I rolled over and back on my feet just in time to see MK come running after me. I was and am fine and we finished out our ride. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to walk when we were through…not from falling but from peddling. I got off and was fine. I could even walk the next day. Hmmm maybe I am not as big of a wuss as I thought.
