Rain Is Back

 The rain didn't want to stay away to long.  We woke up to it raining and it rained most of the morning. A little before lunch it slowed to a drizzle and we went to the pool and sat under an umbrella.  It dried up this afternoon and the pool area was packed.

I was supposed to have spa services this afternoon but there was some kind of mixup.  No one knew what happened.  I ended up just getting my nail polished changed out but no mani/pedi.  I was also scheduled for a massage but I was told I missed it.  I had an email confirmation showing the time I was scheduled.  I was really disappointed.  They kept saying they could reschedule me for Friday.  I'll be home on Friday.....so forget that.  After I left they did some more checking and discovered it was their mistake.  So they told me I could come after all.  I am so glad I got to go because honestly it was the best back massage I have ever had.  It was so wonderful.  They apologized for their mistake and offered to make me an appointment late tomorrow afternoon for the mani/pedi but I told them again I would be on way home.  The back massage was so great it made up for it all.   Art enjoyed the deck while I was at the spa.

Not long after I was done with my massage it started to rain again.  And rain it did.  It just poured for about an hour.  Then it slowed to a steady rain ever since.  Maybe it will be nice in the morning so we can enjoy the beach a little before we have to head home.............fingers crossed. 

The sweet shop has the most delicious red velvet cake. We went tonight for one last piece.  It will have to hold me over til next year.  I am sure I will be dreaming about it until then.  

Fun Day in Partly Cloudy Sun

 It was a fun day.  We spent most of the day on the beach. It was still windy but not as bad as yesterday.  When we got to the beach this morning we were the only ones there.  The lifeguard came and got in the ocean and collected reeds.  He used the reeds to make flowers.    He brought me one. They are really cool. We even played in the ocean.  I was surprised how warm the ocean is.  It is warmer than the pool.  We definitely got sun today.  I got a little sunburned.  I will stay in the shade tomorrow.   

The weather was cloudy until abut 2:30 then dark dark clouds moved in.  We hung in there until 3:00.  Again perfect timing.  It started raining after we got back to the room. 

Tonight we went to one of the other hotels for dinner.  We usually go there for lunch.  We really enjoy the rooftop grill lunch but with the crazy weather lunch wasn't really an option.  Anyway, we thought we would do the outdoor bbq at the other hotel.  Sadly, the rain kept it from being outside. They moved it in to where the buffet is.  The food was really good!!!  The portions where huge.  I couldn't try as I might eat it all.  

We were going to go to the show tonight but we were so full when we got back, we went to the room and we were done in.  The show starts at 9:00 with the music at 10:30.  Too late for these folks after a fun day in the partly cloudy sun.

What No Rain?!

 What a great day!!!!  It didn't  rain once today.  But the wind blew really hard.  We couldn't sit on the beach because the wind blew the sand in your face.  That's ok..... we sat poolside. Art brought a blow up floatie for the pool.  He blew it up with a battery powered inflater that he also brought.   I enjoyed it in the pool even with the wind.  Art had to keep me from floating away or drifting into others in the pool.  It was fun!  We even played bingo.  

Tonight was the chef's dinner.  It was a 5 course dinner. It was interesting.  Most of it was good.   I am not a fan of heating up beans then putting them in a blender til they are mush then throwing in a piece of avocado, add cream jelly and eating it.  Call me crazy but I am not a fan.  The lady sitting next to me took one bite said it needed salt and refused to eat any more of it.  I don't think adding salt would have helped much. The salad had raw tuna.  I am not a fan of cooked tuna so raw tuna is out. The main entree was a piece of steak rolled in black herbs.  Art said it was like it was rolled in dirt.  The steak was good but would have been better had it not been rolled in dirt.  Also the entree was just the steak.  Nothing with it.....just steak. Good thing it was good.  The lady next to me kept asking if it was ala carte or what.   Made me laugh. 

Tonight we decided to go listen to a "soloist". It was a gal that played guitar and sang.  She was really good.  It was worth staying up and going.  

Game Day Not Rained Out

 Today was game day.  As is my norm on game day, I wore my Green Bay shirt.  If you want people to talk to you, all you have to do is put a team shirt or hat on and everyone has an opinion they feel the need to share with you.  So needless to say, my shirt created quite a stir at breakfast.  I even had a conversation with some Bear fans which is ok but they are from Wisconsin.  What the heck?!

 You guessed it, it rained today.  Art went to reserve a longer and before he could get all settled the rain started.  It rained most of the morning.  The wind blew and it was chilly.  After it stopped raining, even though there were dark clouds overhead we went to the beach.  We even had lunch on the beach. I was watching one of the football games on the beach.  It was pretty nice til I started yelling and cheering on the team I was rooting for. Art said I startled the fellow beach sitters. . .... he suggested that since it looked like it was going to rain again soon perhaps we should watch the game from our room.   That way he could watch the game too.  (wink wink).  It did rain some more and now we have thunder and lightening.   We did watch some good games today......... in our room.  We ordered room service so I wouldn't miss any of the Packers game.  I guess if you have to have a rainy day a good way to pass the time is watching a good game. Plus between games we found our way to the sweet shop for a delicious treat. 

I did get to zoom in for church today.  I just love having that option.   We live in such an amazing time. 

Timing and Good Vibes

We are still sending our good vibes for good weather.  I think the rain likes it here as much as we do because it refuses to leave.  We were able to beat the rain briefly this morning with our good vibes.  The skies were only partly cloudy so we went to the pool.  We even got in.   Had fun for a little while in the pool but then the dark clouds moved in.  

We had only been out of the pool long enough to get to our loungers under the umbrella and the rain started.  It was pretty good timing.  We seem to be able to get to shelter every time just in time.   It cleared a little after lunch so we sat on the beach for about an hour then I went for a hot stone massage.  It was pretty sweet.  I don't know why I don't get one at home.  Art practiced his giutar while I was gone.  I was sad to miss it but he serenaded me tonight so all is well.  

Still sending good vibes out for dry weather.  Maybe tomorrow is the day the vibes will stick.  Fingers crossed. 

....and it rained

 It rained most of the night but when we got up it had stopped.  We ate breakfast and then went to the beach.  We only sat there for about 15 minutes.  Art said it was like being in Cascade and watching the storm come up over West Mountain.  We watched the storm moved across the ocean coming closer and closer.  We decided it would be best to go in before the rain started and we got soaked.  Our timing was perfect.  We no sooner got to our room and the skies opened up and poured buckets of water.  It rained all morning.  We mostly hung out in the room.  Art played his guitar and I did some work on church stuff.  Even with all the rain, we still had a good day. 

After lunch there appeared to be a little break in the clouds so we ventured back to the beach.  All the loungers were soaked but we just put a couple towels down and we had our swimsuits on so we didn't much care.  It didn't take long and the beach was full of people.  We stayed out til almost 5. It is supposed to start raining again soon.....darn it.  I do hope that it gives us a break tomorrow so we can spend some time at the beach again. 

A lot of people must have gone home today because the restaurants weren't completely full like they have been.  Even tonight the Sweet Shop usually has a ton of folks but Art and I were the only ones there. It will be interesting to see how many people are on the beach tomorrow if the weather is good. We might not have any trouble scoring a lounger.

Good Thoughts So Far

 Holding good thoughts is helping......

It was pretty overcast when we got up this morning but it often is here.  Art scored us some pretty awesome loungers this morning.  We were front row right at the ocean.  I didn't want to be under an umbrella so the lifeguard brought a single lounger for me to be in the sun.  I loved it.  I was in the sun and Art was in the shade. 

It was overcast all day.  It sprinkled on and off until about 3 but we were able to stay out the whole time.  About 3, it started to thunder and lightening so we called it a day and went in. It was funny, I was listening to a podcast watching the lightening shoot across the distant sky.  As the lightening was coming closer I thought I wonder if we should go inside when the guy on the podcast sternly said "go inside".   I laughed and thought now that is timing.  I got up looked at Art and he said I think we should go in.  Yep....  me and the podcast guy too.  It has been raining ever since.  

Tonight's dinner was all about the hot and spicy.  I don't like hot and spicy.  I am a mild girl.   The waiter brought us a drink to try.  He told us not to chug it but to sip it.  Yeah because it was so spicy hot you couldn't chug it.  Then I had some soup.  The waiter said it wasn't spicy and I told him I don't do spicy hot.   Wrongo Bongo!!!  It was so spicy my throat froze.  It burned so bad I couldn't even swallow.  Yes I choked, well more of a cough...my eyes watered and I thought I was going to spontaneously combust from the heat.  WOW!!!  It was so spicy hot my lips were on fire.  I cannot even express how hot is was.  Good thing the entree was mild and super good as I don't think I could have done one more spicy hot thing.  It has been several hours and my lips and throat are still burning.  WOW that was HOT!!!  One good thing about it is, it sure did clear my sinuses out. 

We had a good day and are sending out good vibes for good weather for tomorrow. 

Rain in the Forecast

 We are still holding good thoughts but it isn't looking bright and sunny. It rained most of the day.  Fortunately, we had indoor activities for the day.

We decided to attend the presentation as it was at one the highest end hotels.  It is a pretty exclusive and expensive hotel and they don't let you just stop in and check it out so we really wanted to see it.  It really is a nice hotel.  There weren't as many guests there.  Well... that is the way it appeared.  Maybe everyone was in their rooms because it was so rainy.  Anyway it was a pretty nice hotel. Glad we went.   

I went for a mani, pedi, and back massage.  They only thing I can say is the massage wasn't nearly long enough.  I could easily have stayed a few more hours it was so good.  Art played his guitar while I was gone.  Sad to have missed his playing.   Good thing he brought it as I have a feeling with all the rain that is supposed to happen this week, we will be spending a lot of time in our room.  At least we will have good music. Maybe with some positive vibes we can have a little sun tomorrow. Good vibes and fingers are crossed. 

Perseverance and Positive Thinking

 My goodness it has been a day or two since I was even logged in.  The last time I tried it didn't work. I am so surprised I got this to work......But yeah!!!  Equally as long since we have been able to travel.  

Everyone from the airline to the hotel has been diligent regarding health and safety.  I had a great chat with the flight attendants.  They for sure have taken a lot of crap trying to keep the public safe and I for one appreciate it and them and their efforts. 

We arrived late afternoon yesterday. Customs was a breeze.  We zipped right through.  Getting our luggage was another story.  It was over an hour waiting.  It wasn't just us either.  Several flights before us were waiting as well.  But we prevailed and got ALL our luggage.  We really didn't have to wait long for our ride to the hotel which was nice as it had been a long day.   It was surprising how much the hotel has changed and how much has stayed the same.  We were a little disappointed that even though we had our reservation for 6 months, we were given a downgrade.  The room did not have any of the amenities we have as part of our membership and no balcony.  But we decided to have a good attitude and think positively and we went and talked to the front desk manager. He did some checking and magically found a room for us with the amenities and a large balcony.  It was wonderful!  The power of positive thinking definitely worked.  We got moved to the new room late this afternoon.

We spent most of the day at the beach. It is crazy how full the place is. It is never this busy this time of year.  That is why we pick this time of year. I guess with the travel restrictions lifted and the fact a lot of folks can work anywhere it has had an impact on it.  Times they have changed.  It is so full, we had a hard time finding a lounger but again positive thinking worked and we found one.   It was really windy and cloudy this morning but by noon the clouds blew away and it was a nice bright day.  

Art brought his guitar and it is so sweet to listen to him play in this beautiful setting. It is supposed to rain the rest of the week so we are going to hold good thoughts that we will have some sun.  We have had good luck with the positive thoughts so far.............
