Last Full Day- BOO HOO

Just like a flash of light...... the 10 days have come to an end.  I can't believe how fast it went.

After breakfast we went to the pool loungers.  It was a little chilly and once again it was windy and very dark clouds loomed.  I was waiting for it to rain at any second.  But by 10:00 the clouds were gone and it was sunny blue skies.  It never got hot but it was nice and warm.

I went for my last massage and mani/pedi.  It was really nice.  I am going to miss that.  It really help my bad neck and shoulder.

I had several people come up to me today to tell me how much they liked my hair. I have been asked if it is natural or if I have it done. I always say mother nature did it.   On our way to dinner one of the employees saw us and ran around the desk and up to us to say how pretty she thought my hair was.

For dinner tonight we had a progressive supper.  We went to the different restaurants and had our favorite at each. It was fun and delicious.   Surprising Art had cheese from the cheese cart.  That might not seem too strange except Art doesn't like cheese.  All on his own, had several pieces.  What next a pedicure?  Nah......  We had some fun wait staff.  Jusif, Anna, and Karina are our favorites. We got our hugs goodbye tonight.

We got all packed tonight and we were watching Green Bay play....Go Pack Go..... and our TV died.  Just snapped and was done.  Dang it.  Well I guess that is our sign it is time to go home.  That's ok, I am excited to get home and have Thanksgiving and get the holidays rolling.   It has been so fun and just what we needed to get rejuvenated.  We live such a fortunate life thanks to all of Arts efforts.

What is the Deal?

Boy this cloudy thing is getting way to serious.  It was windy and cloudy again today.  We spent most of the day in a lounger by the pool. Not a lot going on.  Then this afternoon it decided it wanted to rain.  We went up to our room and it stopped so we went out on our balcony and it started again so we went in and it stopped.  We did that routine a couples of times, then we just stayed in and it stopped raining but it is still pretty windy.

Before dinner we went to the lounge and played 21.  We were the only ones playing that were not from England.  Well.... the dealer wasn't either....of course.  Those Brits have the most charming accent. We had fun. Then we went to dinner. I do love the seasonal soup here.  And I have to ask what is the deal with everyone here serving soup with a spoon the size of Texas?

The time has flown by so quickly.  Can't believe we only have a couple days left. Hope the weather is better tomorrow. Oh!!  I did schedule one last massage and pedi/mani......it really is Arts but we all know how he loves pedicures.  Lucky me.

More Spa -WOOHOO

My  goodness today was particularly windy and cloudy.  The dark threatening kind of clouds. Not only did they threaten they produced.  It rained a little.  About 30 minutes worth.  It didn't bother us though we just went to lunch.

We spent all morning on the loungers. I met a nice couple from Texas.  They were a very wealthy couple.  They had a chilled champagne like we had water.  She thoughtfully offered me some. I so enjoyed visiting with her.

After lunch, the sun reared its beautiful head so we got in the pool. It felt so refreshing.  Then later in the afternoon, I went for my spa treatment.  It was refreshing, relaxing and at times awful.  It was the most contradicting service I have ever experienced.  I have done weird spa services before but never like this.  I doubt I will ever do it again.  A couple times I thought what on earth have I gotten myself into then other times I thought this is so good I am melting into the bed.  Just to give you an idea of one thing imagine rubbing really potent icy hot all over your body and leaving it like that for about 30 minutes in a cold room then rubbing ice cold cream on it.  The first ten minutes are ok......after that.........no bueno.  I will say the facial was the best I have ever had.  It was fabulous.

Dinner was good.  Art gave up on the lamb but he did try the duck and really enjoyed it. I think the duck and lobster fettuccini is the new favorite.

Then we ended the night with watching the football game.  Go Broncos! We have had trouble connecting to our slingbox.  But the Buddy helped us out.  He went over to the house to figure out what the problem was.  The dish had froze, so he fix it. And wallah it worked.  Many thanks to him for fixing it.

Town and Chef's Dinner

Today started out like yesterday cloudy and windy.  But by noon it was good. We spent the morning by the pool.

We had a bite of delicious lunch. It was one of the best lunches so far. After lunch, we decided to go to town.  We hired a taxi to take us. The driver waited for us while we shopped.  He was a really nice guy.  He lived in the states for seven years so his English was pretty good. It was crazy trying to communicate with the salespeople when they don't speak English and we don't speak Spanish.  But we managed.

Tonight for dinner, we went to the chefs dinner. It was a five course dinner. For the most part it was delicious.  The soup was really good and and the meat was fabulous but I could live without the fish salad. We sat by a fun couple from Canada. I ate way to much.  Our favorite band played for part of the dinner.  They played the 12 Street Rag on their guitars.  It was so good.

Overall it was a good day!

It's Spa Day

Another great day!  Art scored us yet more good loungers at the pool,  We spent the morning parked in the loungers.  I so enjoyed the gentleman sitting next to me.  He was a really nice older gentleman. He reminded Art and I of a feminine mobster.  It was fun getting to know him. Then at noon, I went for my first spa appointment.  I had a face wax.  I thought it would be a little painful.  Like when I have my brows waxed.  But you know what?  It was pretty painless and I love the lotion they put on after.  It felt so good.  Then back for some lunch.  They were BBQing ribs.  They were pretty darn good.  And I love the fries they have at the out door pool cafe.  After lunch, I went for my back massage then straight to my mani/pedi.  AAAAHHHHH!!! What a glorious afternoon.

The weather wasn't as stellar today.  Dark clouds loomed all morning and it was pretty windy.  The clouds burned off without producing any rain around noon but the breeze was all day.  In fact, while I was getting my mani/pedi Art came in to tell me he was going up to the room because it was just too windy to be out.

We decided to give the lamb chops one more try.  You know in case the last time was just a fluke.  Well,  I am sad to report the lamb chops were still not any good.   But I am very happy to report the lobster fettuccine is delicious.  Art said he didn't even care about the lamb chops because the fettuccine was so good.  We will be going back for it. Oh my goodness they had a violinist play at the restaurant. He was absolutely fabulous!  I could have listened to him all night.  It was just fabulous!  I kept saying to Art I wonder if he has a CD. I would have totally bought it.

After dinner we were in the room relaxing.  It was disco night so I had hoped to talk Art into going.  I remember reading my book and the next thing I know, Art is telling me I need to take my contacts out and put my PJs on.  What?!?!?!?!?!  What happened to the evening?  It was like I was drugged or something. I wasn't but wow.... It was all I could do to get up and get ready for bed.  Hence the blog is written today and not last night.  Now ready for a fun filled day.

Today's Happenings

We got up this morning and it was simply cloudless.  Rain was predicted but there was not a cloud in sight........ that is until late afternoon. About 3:00 I was reading my book and it was talking about it raining. Then I felt some rain drops.  For a quick second, I thought man I have a good imagination, I can just feel the rain that I am reading.  Then I realized nope it is really raining.  We sure lucked out.  It was supposed to rain all day but it waited until we were ready to go indoors. And.....it only rained for about an hour.

We decided to sit by the pool instead of the beach.  Art scored some great loungers for us.  It was so hot and humid today. I don't remember ever sweating as much as I did today.  I was completely drenched.  I am not sure if was the heat or the humidity or perhaps both but I was sweating like crazy.

Before lunch I went for a hot stone massage.  It was really nice. The poor gal tried really hard to work out the kinks in my muscles but was unable to.  I told her not to worry that is just the way I am. The last several massages have turned out the same way.  But nevertheless it was a great massage and very relaxing.

We were in our loungers this afternoon and all of a sudden I heard something hit the umbrella we were under and then it hit me and bounced off rolling under the lounger next to me.  It appeared to be a ring so I got up to look and sure enough it was a man's wedding ring.  I said we will have to turn it in to the front desk.  Then I looked in the pool and all the people who had been playing volleyball in the pool were all looking in the water like they were looking for something.   Hmmmmmm......could it be a ring they were searching for?  I hurried over and asked if they were looking for a ring.  Sure enough.  The guy who lost it was so relieved.  When he hit the ball back over the net he flung his hand so hard his ring flew right off.

Dinner tonight was a little better.  At least tonight I could cut my meat.  The meat I had last night I couldn't cut.  Art had to cut it for me and even he had a hard time.  Needless to say, I couldn't eat it.  But tonight was better and our waiter was a cute guy who was working hard to make things nice for us and was very attentive.

I get more spa treatments tomorrow.  I am so excited!!!

It Was A Cloudless Day

Not a lot to report today.  It was a cloudless beautiful day. We spent most of the day lounging on the beach. We did get in the pool briefly this morning and did dip our toes in the ocean.  Art got a quick 5 minute massage.  The spa staff was hanging out by the bathrooms and when he went to the bathroom they snagged him.  I got a bunch of spa appointments made.  This week I will have three massages.  So looking forward to it.

I did make the bartender laugh.  In my best Spanish I asked him to please fill my mug with lots of ice and water.  He smiled and asked if I spoke Spanish. So in my best Spanish I told him no. Stunned that I said no he said I had a good accent and asked if I spoke a little bit to which I replied no I am a gringo. He looked at me kind of funny then busted out laughing and just laughed and laughed.  He said you are a really funny lady. Later when I saw him he waved and said hello funny lady.  I think he meant to say "loco" lady.

Presentation Day

Today we were out and about. After breakfast went went to another hotel for the upgrade presentation.  They didn't offer us anything to make us want to upgrade.  It was funny though because we were the greatest thing to walk in the door until we said no we weren't going to upgrade and then we were dog poop. Oh well!!! After the presentation we had a bite to eat and walked around the property. It was a nice day to be outdoors.  That hotel had some really fun things.  They have a new water slide and a surf pool. No one was down on the beach so we went down and got loungers right away.  It seemed a little strange but hey we were glad.  We just got settled in and Art said I know why no one is down here.......the beach was full of red ants.  Ooops!!!! We hurried and found loungers up by the pool.  It was a nice relaxing afternoon.  The hotel has two sweet shops.  The ice cream was so smooth and good.  I don't normally eat ice cream because it makes my stomach hurt but this ice cream was sooooo worth a stomach ache.

Since we aren't staying at that hotel, we had to get ready at the gym.  They have nice showers and a place to get cleaned up.  When I walked out Art thought Mrs Dr is here then realized it was me.  We laughed over it.  Then at dinner there was a mirror on the back wall.  Art thought it was another room until he realized it was us and he was looking at a mirror.  Then I looked up at the mirror and thought that lady looks like Mrs Dr.......then I realized it was me.  I never thought we looked alike before but I sure did tonight.  We laughed about it.  Then Art said oh look there is Brad Pitt....oh wait it's just me. HAHAHAH!

Tonight we had dinner at the Tappenyaki restaurant.  It was fun.  The taxi ride to and back was fine.  The driver only ran one stop sign.  I have determined stop signs are just a suggestion here.  But we got there and back safe and sound.  Whew!!

Now to bed.

Fun in the Sun

What a nice day!  We slept in this morning.  We were tired from traveling. After a yummy breakfast we wandered down to the beach.  It was supposed to rain all day but the sun must have booted it away. After lunch, we swam briefly in the pool. It was so refreshing. We also played one game of Bingo. No we didn't win. Then I went for a massage.  Oh my goodness it felt so good.  It was a struggle to stay awake it was so relaxing.  Art was so sweet, he knows how much I like to order guacamole, chips, and shrimps cocktail to have while I am getting cleaned up so he ordered it and had it arrive at the same time I got back to the room.  It was such a sweet surprise.  He is the best.

Tonight's anticipated dinner was a complete bust.  Poor Art.  He looked forward to dinner all day.  This is the place that he first had the delicious meat-cickles called lamb chops.  He was so excited when he saw them on the menu. Sadly, they weren't anything like he had in the past. He said they were the worst he had ever had.  Dang!!!  To add insult to injury while we were at dinner, the rain started. But thankfully it didn't last long.  Just enough to make everything wet.

We were going to watch the BSU game but we couldn't get our slingbox to work. It would have been fun to watch but we will just enjoy paradise instead.

Tomorrow we are going to take a taxi.  YIKES,  The taxi rides here are scary.  The ride from the airport was a little scary.  The driver was getting close to rear-ending the car in front of us.  But I did my part to stop the car.  I sucked the air out of the vehicle, stomped on my invisible break, and grabbed Arts leg.  I used his pants like you would an emergency brake.  Poor guy!  I had a handful of his leg hair.  He sucked the remaining air out of vehicle and screamed not because he was scared but because he was in pain.  The driver laughed and said no worries he had it under control.  Good luck to us tomorrow.

Me Cosa

Well here we are again.  Back in sunny Mexico.  Very excited to be back....... Just wish we didn't have to get up so early to come.  The Buddy was so good to pick us up bright and early.  Ok it was dark and early but it was definitely early.

We made it through security with ease.  In fact, we both made mention of how quick and easy it was.  We were sitting on the plane as more passengers filed in.  It was a full flight.  I glanced up at the incoming passengers and who was there but Miss Aunt Donna.  Art saw her about the same time and started to wave at her.  I was in an isle seat so I just hung my head in the middle of the isle.  She was as surprised to see us and we were to see her. She was sitting kitty corner from us.  When our seat mate came I asked her if she would trade with Miss Aunt Donna and she was more than happy to do that. It was fun seeing her and getting all caught up.  I regaled stories of how awesome the kids where doing and how we have the best and smartest grandkids and she shared how their trailer got stolen from a storage lot this past weekend.  We are anxious to hear how it all turns out.  It sure did make the first leg of the trip go by fast.

We grabbed a quick bite at the Dallas airport.  I had a very expensive sandwich and Art had McDonalds. I watched a great movie on the flight so the time flew by (get it?  flew.. we are on a plane).

Now for the crazy and funny part of the day.  We landed got through customs pretty fast and easy.  We went out to get our ride and Art said he noticed this morning that the paperwork confirming our ride had other peoples names on it instead of ours. Kinda weird but ok.  We were able to get a ride anyway.  Then we got to the hotel they had us down with the same wrong names.  So we are now Alta and Ruiz.  They had Alta and Ruiz going home on the 14th but we said no Art and Granelda are staying until the 21st.  It all got straightened out and we have had a good laugh.  Don't be surprised if you hear me call Art Ruiz though.

We had a good dinner with my favorite seasonal soup.  Ymmmm it is soooo good.  Art even let us have it first before lamb chops.  What a guy! Guess what we are having tomorrow for dinner?  Yup lamp chops.........well Ruiz is.  Alta will have something good though I am sure.

It has been a long day so off to bed we go.  Tomorrow should be a great sunny day. Night all.
