10 out of 10 Day

This was a 10 out of 10 day for sure.  This morning we had a nice breakfast. We ate at the restaurant close by. Then Trixie and I headed to the sister hotel for our massages. We knew you could walk there and not take the trolley but we weren’t exactly sure how.  We got in one elevator went up a few floors then we got out and walked up about four floors of stairs.  We weren’t positive were we were but it looked familiar from the last time we were here.  We found our way around to an elevator and waited and waited and waited. It made us think it was going to open but it never did.  Trixie went down the hall to see if there might be some other elevators but nope.  Finally, a worker in paint clothes carrying a paint can came by.  We asked him if he spoke English and he said a little then asked if we were looking for the spa.  He took us around the other corner and bam there were the elevators we needed.  Up we flew to our appointment.  We did all the spa things.......sat in a sauna then did the cold fire hose dousing on your head (it wasn’t as bad this time around) then another sauna then you dunk yourself in a ice cold pool then get in a hot tub.  After that you get in a pool with jets and tubes shooting water out.  This was all before we had our massage.  We met a nice lady from California who joined us.  We had a nice visit with her and found out she is a doctor. Not that it matters any...just something we learned.  We went in for massages.  We opted to do the relaxation massage.  It was a massage of a lifetime.  We both got really really good masseuses.  We really lucked out. It was 80 minutes of pure heaven.  The pressure was perfect and I caught myself dosing off a few times. It was so nice to have my muscles finally loosening up.  They freeze up so much it is hard to get them to relax but this massage did the trick.  I just loved it.  Thanks Art for arranging.

We got done in time to join the guys for a quick bite of lunch by the pool.  We let our lunch digest a little bit then we hoped on the trolley and headed for the beach.  It was such a beautiful day and the weather was perfect.  The Coonster, Trixie and I grabbed some snorkeling gear and headed to the ocean.  The tide was low so we had to be careful not to get hurt or scrape along the rocks.  We were able to see some really beautiful fish.  Who knew?! We have played in the area but I had no idea there were so many fish swimming around especially by the rocks.  Everyday we have said we should go snorkeling and everyday passes without us going so it was great we made it happen.  The ocean water was so warm and you could just walk out and start to snorkel.  Hope we get an other opportunity to go before we go home.

If you recall.......maybe.....  I mentioned in an earlier post that the Coonster asked one of the restaurant managers about an item and he said he would get it.  We made arrangements to have it on Saturday.  Well.......... we had reservations to go there as well tonight.  The manager saw us come in and quickly came over to us and said we could have that item tonight.  We were thrilled to say the least.  This item is the cap end of a rib steak and is apparently very hard to get.  That is why they removed it from the menu. We could not believe our good fortune of having it tonight.  Of course we all said yes we wanted it.  Art also ordered lamp chops to go with his and I ordered grilled shrimp to go with mine. One of our waiters brought out extremely hot plates and then the manager brought the meat out and placed this incredibly beautiful piece of meat on our plates. This meat was so tender that you could literally cut it with your fork.  It was seasoned to absolute perfection.  It was cooked perfectly.  Not over cooked not undercooked it was Goldilocks meat.......just right.   As our eyes gazed upon the beautiful piece of meat our stomachs hollered feed me feed me.  After eating it our stomachs hollered thank you very much.  I am not kidding this meat just melted in your mouth.  Trixie said it best..... You don’t have to chew it much as it just melts in your mouth. While we were enjoying our delightful meal the head chef came out to talk with us.  He asked how everything was and said it was his pleasure to cook this up special for us and hope we enjoyed eating it as much as he enjoyed preparing it.  Oh my goodness gracious.... we enjoyed it more.....hands down. We felt like royalty or some kind of celeb with all the attention showered on us by all the staff.  It was so great.

After dinner, we went to the sister hotel rooftop for a nightcap.  It is a very trendy and happening place.  There was a sax player and Art and I danced  then Trixie and the Coonster danced a couple  times.  As Trixie, the Coonster and I are not drinkers, The waiter said he would have the bartender make a virgin surprise drink for us.  I liked the first one he made but the second one was super sour.  None the less we had a good time. After we got back to our apartment the placed called to let us know Trixie had left her bag.  Thank heavens they found it!  She and the Coonster quickly went back to retrieve it and all was well.  Now it is late and time for me to hit the sheets.  Today was definitely a 10 out of 10 days.
